Hi, I'm a beta participant, and I'm having a sort of unusual issue for which I've been unable to find a solution. The game plays beautifully, and it's the best Battlefield game to date, but it takes over a minute to load on each round. I have an i7 860 quad core, 8 gigs of ram, a solid state drive, and an ATI 5850. I'm on Win7 64. I have no performance issues in the game itself, but again, it takes over a minute for the game to load - so in many cases the first MCOM has already been blown up before I even enter the game.

I've seen other people with the same issue on both the EA and Steam forums: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/407647.page

Any suggestions? Thanks!

The long loading times are caused by the AMD DX10 & DX11 drivers taking a long time to create our shaders. We've notified AMD of this.

A workaround can be to run in DX9 mode instead, should load faster.

Hey repi, long time follower of your blog, love all the tech behind this game. It looks gorgeous and the multiplayer is good times. One thing keeping me from touching singleplayer however, is the fov. Although I can change it the settings.ini file, it reverts itself back to the wonky zoomed-in state after an in-game cutscene. Is some sort of fov slider on the way, or is there a way I can find a key to set the fov?

They added it quite quickly and sounds like it is broken in SP, that 's too bad. I'll let them know and they can fix it for a future patch.

It shouldn't be reset by the cutscenes.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes:
I have a e6600 oc'd to 2.88, w7 pro 32 bit and 8800gts 512.
I have a strange bug where the game runs nice and smooth in single player (save for the FOV bug) but stutters extremely badly in multiplayer. The mouse movement is completely smooth in the weapon select screen but the rest of the game lags about including the UI buttons (eg. highlight). It's unfortunately unplayable - I was getting it in the beta and was hoping it would be fixed in the full game. I've already tried the usual turning down settings, dx9 version.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey, so I read the patch notes for the upcoming steam patch, and I dont see anything about fov, so once again I'm here to plead unto you, to please provide a fix for the fov resetting after each cutscene in singleplayer, or to ask for a way to bind an fov change to a button.

Unless this will be in this patch secretly, or has already been ninja patched. I havent touched the game since last weekend (gdc was long).

I dont want to disregard an entire singleplayer campaign due to the crazy zoom-view.

Thanks~

This game looks beautiful. If only AMD would fix the slow loading issue, it'd be perfect. It is ridiculous that Nvidia players have already set a charge by the time I enter the game....

Come on AMD.

Hello again repi. Looks like you stopped responding, as the chinese spam is piling up. I'm afraid I'll have tp bring it up again. The singleplayer fov still resets to 55.

I played for many hours in glorious multiplayer then after 20 minutes of trying to start the singleplayer I got queasy and gave up to start complaining. Now why is this not fixed?

Whatever. Is there still not a way I can bind a key to reset my fov to a value?
